Marie Osmond

Marie Osmond Treated at Hospital for Lung Problem

Marie Osmond was rushed to a hospital emergency on Wednesday night after performing with her brother Donny at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas and was treated for bronchitis.

The 52 years old singer had raised concerns after she sounded hoarse on stage and complained of tightness in her lungs after the show ended. In the hospital, she was evaluated for about 90 minutes and underwent a series of medical tests, after which she was released and cleared to perform, The Las Vegas Sun reported.

Osmond had been battling the illness for days, which prompted 2 of the duo's concerts to be canceled last week, her brother had said. Osmond Tweeted on Thursday, 27th October, that she plans to return to the stage adding: "Getting ready to go to the show. Big doll event tonight. Nothing can make me miss this.

The singer's spokesperson said the Las Vegas Sun that several songs she is set to perform may be cut to give her voice some rest. Osmond is also still set to participate at a signing event to celebrate 20th anniversary of her signature doll collection at the Flamingo Hotel on Saturday.

"So the allergies went into bronchitis," she tweeted. "Did not realize it until I went to hit the high notes last night on stage. My cute hubby just made me an awesome steak on the grill. So now I've had protein and feeling strong."

Osmond remarried her 1st husband, former basketball player Stephen Craig, on 4th May, more than twenty-five-years after their divorce and on what would have been her late son Michael's 20th birthday.

Earlier this year, the Osmond siblings released the record "Donny & Marie," which marks the duo's 1st studio album together in 30 years. It is the follow up record to their 1978 albums, "Winning Combination" and "Goin' Coconuts."
